Non-destructive testing (NDT) Technician (Wellington Full Time) for Testing of concrete structures and infrastructure (i.e., bridges, wharves, etc.).

The job would suit an engineer with structural engineering experience, a mechatronics/signals engineer, or a candidate with a Project Management background in the construction/engineering industries, with a preference for new technologies.

The position is threefold; the successful applicant would require the skills necessary to use both a Ferroscan Scanner and Ground Penetrating Radar Scanner to assess the reinforcing elements of existing concrete structures. Plus, be part of the innovative team developing new technologies in the NDT space, training to a level where they are competent operators of new technologies.

Additionally, they would be required to compile Verification Reports from the data collected for our clients, who are largely Consulting Engineers.

PASSION for the industry and ability to COMMUNICATE are the key elements we are looking for at CSI. Ability to COLLABORATE, CO-OPERATE AND WORK INDEPENDENTLY (when required) are also essential.

Applicants would require a sound knowledge of:

· Structural engineering, particularly steel-reinforced concrete structures.

· Ability to use the scanners mentioned above (training provided)

· Ability to learn new technologies

· Ability to use the scan analysis software (training provided)

· Write clear and concise reports (training provided)

· Basic knowledge of photo software

· CAD experience would be helpful

Work hours will suit the workflow, but could be moderated to suit the successful applicant

The position would be primarily based in Wellington. However, travel may be required from time to time.
