About the role
Magritek is seeking a chemist who can support the quality of the software developed by our software team. The role is based in our Wellington office and involves testing and supporting the software development process as well as supporting customers who use the software. The role will also involve preparing samples and measuring them on our benchtop NMR. Good knowledge of NMR and Chemistry, and good communication skills are important. Working with Magritek offers intellectual stimulus by being part of a global team involving cutting edge technology.
Roles and Duties
The candidate is expected to perform a range of hands-on and office type tasks including but not limited to the following:
Test software features, find bugs and work with software engineers on fixes
Operation and technical troubleshooting of equipment
Participate in R&D activities and product development
Prepare samples for customer evaluation measurements
Support customers with instrument installation and method development
Assist with software documentation and development of marketing material
Requirements
Degree qualification in chemistry
Knowledge of analytical methods, in particular NMR spectroscopy
Interest in software, software development, using and improving software
Can do attitude with excellent problem solving and observational skills
Ability to work autonomously for periods without direct supervision
Willingness to learn and enthusiastic attitude
Organised with attention to detail
Effective English oral and written communication
Must have NZ residency, or a valid NZ work visa.
