Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of data assets to support our colleagues across Auckland Transport as well as our Council partners.
You will be participating in the design and development of an enterprise data warehouse platform built on the Microsoft SQL Server. You will be the technical point of contact for the delivery of reliable, reusable data assets. This is a challenging role working on the development of sustainable, scalable solutions.
This includes:
- Development and automation of sustainable data sets, utilising different data sources and platforms
- Quickly and effectively solving complex and interesting problems arising from high volume, high speed transactional processing and large-scale data warehouse design.
- Liaise and consult with key colleagues to ensure correct and / or curated datasets are built
- Use ETL and Big Data techniques to build out end-to-end data pipeline
Ko koe tēnei | About you
You will bring with you 3+ years hands on experience in Data Warehousing, preferably using SQL Server and Wherescape RED. Alongside this you will also have:
- Proven experience in data and dimensional modelling design and development of data schemas using Kimball methodology.
- Proven track record in designing, developing and implementing innovative data integration and data warehouse solutions
- Previous experience with reporting applications and related tools, Power BI and SSaS would be advantageous.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in an Agile or iterative environment
