Are you a curious, driven problem solver who is passionate about using data to support better business decisions?

As a leader in data, analytics and AI for over 30 years, Datamine is seeking a graduate or early-career analyst to join our Data Analyst team to help deliver analytical solutions that solve real business problems for our clients.

At Datamine, our purpose is to give people power through the ethical use of technology, so they can make decisions that improve their work, lives, and communities. We collaborate closely with our clients to leverage practical insights that create real impact. We thrive on making a difference – and we’re looking for someone who brings the same passion.

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated recent graduate or an analyst with a couple of years’ experience to join our team and help design, deliver and support analytical solutions for our clients. You’ll work across a variety of internal and client projects where strong problem-solving and a focus on improvement are essential.

Success in this role comes from using data pragmatically to solve real problems for clients, not just producing technically interesting analysis. As you evolve in the role, Datamine will work with you to hone your skills.

If you enjoy asking why, solving complex problems, and turning analysis into meaningful outcomes, this could be the role for you.

At Datamine, we are all individuals, you’ll find no boxes. In fact, one of our values is “don’t just tick the box!”

What a day may look like:

  • Working with the customer service, analytics, and AI/data engineering teams to solve and implement solutions to client problems

  • Working in a project team to plan, build, test and roll out data-based tools and analytical solutions

  • Interpreting results and helping Datamine’s clients leverage insights to maximise value

  • Understanding client challenges and supporting new and existing analytical solutions

  • Presenting findings to the Client Services team to report back to clients

  • Working pragmatically to deliver the right outcome for the client while understanding the commercial realities of analytical solutions

  • Taking ownership of your work and communicating early if challenges arise or you get stuck

  • Ensuring projects are accurate, well organised, and delivered on time

  • Bringing curiosity to your work by asking questions and continually developing your skills

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy solving real-world problems with data, not just analysing numbers

  • Take ownership of your work and communicate openly when challenges arise

  • Are organised and pragmatic when delivering solutions

  • Are curious and enjoy asking “why?”

  • Value teamwork and enjoy helping others succeed

You’ll fit right in at Datamine if you have:

  • A university degree in a discipline such as mathematics, statistics, AI, engineering and data science

  • Practical work experience – if you’re a graduate, that could be part-time while studying, holiday work, we are interested in anything you have done and what you have learned from it

  • Experience using SQL, R, Python or similar languages to analyse data or build analytical tools – for graduates either in the real world or throughout your studies

  • Experience with presentation/visualisation/data manipulation tools – R/Power BI/Excel

  • The ability to translate analytical work clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • A pragmatic approach to designing analytical solutions for stakeholders or clients

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work

  • A team-first mindset: you enjoy supporting others, thrive on collaboration, and love celebrating shared successes

  • A growth mentality: you’re eager to learn, curious, and ready to build your skills while adding value along the way

What Datamine Offers

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience

  • A values-driven organisation

  • A chance to make your mark

  • A supportive work environment where your contributions are valued

  • An opportunity to work with a diverse and talented team

  • The opportunity to learn from and work alongside experts in their field

  • An environment that will allow you to be you and to thrive

  • A place that celebrates our wins and is on the path of continual learning

  • A business that believes in accountability, not hierarchy

  • An Employee Assistance Program

  • Subsidised health insurance

Oh, and did we mention we have a chef and a café, so lunch and coffee are on us. It’s always worth reading to the end of the ad!

How to Apply

If you don’t meet every requirement but believe you could thrive in the role, we still encourage you to apply.

To apply for the position, please submit your CV (if you are a graduate you can include a transcript, or we will be in touch to request it), and a cover letter highlighting your interest in Datamine and relevant experience (and yes, we read them all!), so if you don’t provide them, we can’t proceed, and we really want to meet you.
