The Role

We're looking to grow our supply chain team. In this Intermediate Procurement Engineer role, you will play an integral part by setting up industry best practices, driving efficiencies by developing our supplier base, sourcing strategies, materials planning, purchase order management, and supplier management processes.

While your primary focus will be sourcing and purchasing, this role gives you an opportunity to contribute beyond that scope into the wider world of supply chain! You will be helping us to shape up our material planning and supplier quality management.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies that meet and support cross-functional team requirements
  • Driving for best value and improving overall supplier performance management across supply chain
  • Actively participating and supporting new product introduction with sourcing at each stage of product development
  • Sourcing components by identifying new/alternate components.
  • Identifying, qualifying and onboarding new suppliers
  • Developing long-standing relationships with key suppliers. Continuing to improve relationships while ensuring better commercial outcomes are achieved
  • Managing supplier performance by conducting supplier assessments, on-site audits, and completing supplier performance reporting and monitoring
  • Participating in developing, testing, piloting and implementing supply chain systems and tools as required.

Please note; this role will require international and domestic travel.

About You

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you have the following skills/or traits:

  • Approximately 2 - 4 Years experience in sourcing, planning or purchasing in Electronics manufacturing or similar technical industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering)
  • Ability to read/understand engineering drawings & BOM
  • Previous experience with supplier onboarding and ongoing management
  • Experienced in and familiar with material requirement planning (MRP) & enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Proven ability to set-up supplier contracts, including negotiation and implementation
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal & external stakeholders at all levels
  • An ability to take initiative, follow through on what you say you’ll do, and own your mistakes
  • Determination and tenacity, maintaining a positive attitude in challenging situation
  • Clear, candid and concise communication skills - both written and verbal, but also an ability to be kind and compassionate when dealing with others

Some nice to haves include:

  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, in Mandarin
  • Experience with supplier quality management
  • Experience with material planning
  • Previous experience working with either a start-up, or scale-up company
