Why Beany?

Do you love accounting but feel ready for the industry to evolve? At Beany, we aren't waiting for the future of accounting; we are building it. We are searching for a talented, forward-thinking Chartered Accountant to join our fully remote UK team.

At Beany, we're focused on changing the way accountants work, for the better. Our tech means we spend less time on admin and more time having meaningful interactions with clients, helping them succeed.

What we're looking for: You’ll need to be a brilliant all-rounder, comfortable handling the standard compliance essentials - year-end accounts (companies, partnerships and sole traders), corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, payroll, etc - with total accuracy. However, we’re also looking for someone who wants to offer more than just a tax return.

We are currently launching new advisory products designed to give our clients real financial clarity, and we need an accountant who is ready to use that data to provide meaningful advice. If you’re a compliance expert who is excited to help our clients understand the story behind their numbers, you’ll fit right in.

The Team

Joining Beany UK means joining a small, mighty, and forward-thinking team of professionals here in the UK. While our HQ is based in New Zealand, our UK team is the 'on-the-ground' heartbeat of the UK business. We are looking for a true team player - someone who is happy to get stuck in and support their colleagues whenever needed. Although we work remotely, you are never isolated; you are part of a global team spanning New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the Philippines.

Who You Are

  • A Tech Enthusiast: You aren't just comfortable with technology; you’re genuinely excited by it. You see AI as an opportunity to eliminate the mundane, and you’re eager to be part of a team that’s leading that shift in the UK.
  • A Progressive All-Rounder: You take pride in being a safe pair of hands for the necessary compliance, but you are also a "big picture" thinker. You want to move beyond the spreadsheets to help clients truly understand their numbers.
  • An Empathetic Communicator: You enjoy talking to clients daily. You have the confidence to translate complex tax structures into simple, actionable advice via phone and video.
  • A Collaborative Teammate: You thrive in a "muck-in" culture. Even in a remote setting, you are proactive about supporting your colleagues and staying connected to our global mission.
  • A Calm Problem-Solver: You are comfortable managing the end-to-end accounting process in a dynamic environment, staying collected even when juggling competing priorities.
Skills and Experience

To hit the ground running in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Status: A current Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA or ACCA) with at least 5 years of post-qualified experience.
  • Practice Background: A minimum of 5 years in public practice, with a deep understanding of the UK small business landscape (Companies, Partnerships, and Sole Traders).
  • Technical Proficiency: You are an expert within the Xero product suite (and ideally QuickBooks) and are generally "tech-savvy" - you pick up new software quickly and are eager to use our proprietary tools.
  • Compliance Core: Proven experience handling the essentials: preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, VAT, Tax Returns, and Payroll.

The Perks:

  • Fully remote: Work from anywhere in UK with fully flexible working arrangements available
  • Professional Growth: Competitive salary and paid time towards your CPD requirements to keep you at the top of your game.
  • Innovation at your Fingertips: Be part of a firm that is actively investing in AI and automation to remove the "churn and burn" of traditional practice.

Ready to Love Your Work Life? If you are an experienced accountant ready to embrace the future of advisory and help our clients navigate their goals with confidence, we want to hear from you.

We are not looking to work with recruiters or third party providers to fill this role - thank you.
