Position Purpose: The VP of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering organisation to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable software that powers FileInvite’s mission to be the global standard in collecting information. This role sets the technical vision, drives engineering excellence, and ensures delivery of innovative solutions that meet customer needs, while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Key Accountabilities:

• Leadership & Strategy
  • Own, champion and communicate the technical vision and strategy aligned with FileInvite’s overall business objectives and growth targets.
  • Build, scale, and inspire a high-performing engineering organisation that can deliver at pace and quality.
  • Develop future leaders within the engineering team and ensure succession planning for critical roles.
  • Ensure engineering priorities are aligned with customer outcomes, revenue growth, and long-term company strategy.
    
    
• Product Delivery & Quality
  • Oversee the development, testing, and release of high-quality, secure, and compliant software solutions.
  • Partner closely with Product to ensure delivery aligns with customer needs, timelines, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Establish and track delivery metrics such as release predictability, uptime, defect rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion best practices in software development, security, architecture, and regulatory compliance relevant to financial services.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and release of high-quality software solutions.

• Team Development & Culture
  • Recruit,coach and develop the Engineering team through clear goals, ongoing feedback, and career development.
  • Champion FileInvite's values and model collaborative leadership at all levels.
  • Build strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Success, and Design to ensure alignment on customer impact.
  • Use your influence to help shape a culture that fosters inclusivity, open communication, new ideas and embracing of change while still maintaining a hustle for business impact.
    
    
• Technology & Innovation
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that strengthen FileInvite’s competitive advantage and customer experience.
  • Ensure systems and architecture can scale reliably to meet growing global demand.
  • Drive automation, DevOps maturity, and operational efficiency, including cost optimisation in cloud infrastructure and tooling.
  • Lead decision-making on build vs. buy and ensure cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection are embedded into engineering practices.
    
    
• Governance and Reporting
  • Own and deliver communication of technology strategy to the Board of Directors as well as providing key metrics, performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Present clear, data-driven insights on progress against objectives, emerging risks and oppourtunities, and resource requirements.
  • Respond to board inquires with accuracy and transparency, and implement board directives withing agreed timeframes.
    
    
• Continuous Improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in software development.
  • Promote innovation, advocate for adoption of new practices and monitor them to ensure these deliver measurable improvements to quality, speed, or cost efficiency.
  • Establish KPIs for engineering efficiency (e.g. cycle time, deployment frequency, incident response) and continuously improve against them.
  • Promote innovation and advocate for the adoption of new practices where appropriate.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance interteam efficiency and product quality.
    
    

• FileInvite Delivery
  • Lead project planning, estimation, and execution to ensure reliable delivery of roadmap commitments.
  • Manage technical risks, proactively communicate trade-offs, and provide mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Own service level agreements (SLAs), system reliability, and technical debt management to ensure long-term product stability.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with business requirements, regulatory standards, and technical specifications.
