Conduct routine operational checks, make process adjustments, and perform basic maintenance tasks.
Monitor and control plant operations via HMI and SCADA systems, both on-site and remotely.
Identify and resolve operational issues using trend analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Maintain a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and ensuring safe work practices are followed by all on site.
Liaise with contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
Suggest improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.
Manage the receipt and dispatch of consumables and product.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in plant operations, process control, or maintenance in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
Completion of an External Operator course (e.g., NZ Certificate in Energy and Chemical Process Operations Level 3 or higher) is preferred. Equivalent qualifications (e.g., National Diploma, NZCE, Trade Cert) will also be considered.
Familiarity with SCADA and HMI systems is highly valued.
Full NZ Driver’s License (a ‘W’ endorsement is a bonus).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Teams).
Understanding of work control systems (e.g., permit to work) and CMMS is an advantage.
Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and its application in industrial settings.
