Marketing Internship 2024/2025

Halter

Halter

Marketing & Communications
Auckland, New Zealand
Posted on Jul 5, 2024
About the role
Fieldays events. Sharing pics of farmers kissing their cows. Packing hundreds of goodie boxes to send to our farmers for Christmas. Designing labels for Halter coffee cans. Helping our Product team launch a new set of features. You can say that we have heaps of fun in the Marketing team at Halter. Want to join in?
We’re looking for someone who’s keen to learn about all aspects of marketing and wants to kick-start their career at one of New Zealand’s most innovative tech companies. This isn’t a role where you’ll be confined to ‘intern-y’ jobs, everyone at Halter is responsible for making an impact and moving the needle, so you’ll be working closely with a tight-knit marketing team to make sure what we do resonates with and attracts the attention of farmers.
You could be someone who makes TikTok videos, has organised a club's events, grew up on a dairy farm, or manages a group or society's social media account—we want to know what makes you a great candidate for this role.
At Halter, we work and learn (really) quickly to reach tight deadlines, have a crazy amount of initiative and lift each other up so that we all succeed. We can’t wait to make sure you have an awesome experience being part of our team.
This internship will run from the 18th of November 2024 through to the 28th of February 2025. It will be full-time 40 hours a week over this period.

What your day could look like

  • Generate ideas and create video, image, and written content that resonates with farmers for our website and social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok). You’ll be experimenting with fun, creative, and out-of-the-box ideas that we haven’t tried before, maybe even getting in front of the camera yourself!
  • Contributing to our content calendar and planning out what we’ll post, on what platform and why.
  • Support the planning, execution and promotion of events like Fieldays and regional open days throughout New Zealand.
  • Engage with farmers to understand what matters to them and use these insights to inform the content and marketing activities you’ll be working on.
  • Make sure Halter farmers feel loved by organising and sending them goodies, merch and gifts.
  • Help with various marketing projects and campaigns, including preparing promotional materials, co-coordinating projects and supporting lead generation efforts.
  • Work collaboratively to support our marketing, sales and customer success teams, making sure we’re moving fast and delivering results.

Who are we looking for?

  • A current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Business, Agriculture or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in farming and agriculture. Bonus points if you have a background or understanding of the industry!
  • A great storyteller. You know how to craft a compelling story and are an excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • You understand what makes great digital and social media content. E.g. You’re scrolling to see what farmers post on social media, thinking about what kinds of content they’ll want to see, and adding them to your list of ideas.
  • Someone who takes initiative has a high degree of ownership and has a bias for just getting stuff done.
  • Coachable and willing to learn—by teaching yourself or learning from others. You’re not afraid of trying something, measuring the results, and trying again until you find what works.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to execute to a high standard. You find typos, inconsistencies in messaging, and video editing blunders and can deliver projects that we’d be proud to stamp the Halter brand on.
