About the role
We are looking for someone hungry to make an impact on the world, to help us extract, analyse and predict insights from the world’s biggest cow behaviour dataset.
In this role, you will be working on an end-to-end data science or machine learning project, taking it from conception through to proof of concept stages. You will get exposed to how we work on cutting edge machine learning problems and work within our wider team of data scientists and machine learning specialists.
This internship will run from the 18th of November 2024 through to the 28th of February 2025. It will be full-time 40 hours a week over this period.
What your day could look like
- Learning about the context of the problem you are working on; working with product owners, customer teams and others to define requirements and success criteria
- Querying and extracting data from our data lake, exploring and visualising it to understand the data
- Developing labelling techniques (and potentially spending time manually labelling data if required!)
- Developing and iterating statistical models, heuristics or machine learning models
- Communicating the results of your work to the wider team
- Working with other team members on ad-hoc data analysis, product support

Who are we looking for?
- You are enrolled in your final year or have recently completed a Statistics, Computer Science or similar degree
- You have intermediate skills in Python and experience with SQL, PyTorch, SkLearn etc
- You have good project-based experience in machine learning/data science problems
- You are excited about taking ownership of a project from start to finish and being responsible for your deliverables
- Someone with the right attitude. We’re looking for the deeply curious, those who are driven to learn and grow in all areas.
- Someone who takes ownership and keeps asking questions under they get what they need

We do have flexible working hours and you can work from home when you need to but we encourage our team to be in the office as much as you can.
