The role
You’ll partner directly with managers across Product & Engineering to raise performance, strengthen leadership, and handle complexity before it becomes a problem.
This is not transactional HR. It is not policy administration. It is not a feel-good support role. It’s about lifting performance through clear standards, strong judgment, and better leadership - every single day.
What you’ll actually do:
Coach managers through performance and development conversations
Navigate early ER and team dynamics issues with confidence
Raise clarity, accountability, and standards across the org
Spot risk before it becomes systemic
Challenge, then support - not the other way around
Operate close to the work, where complexity is real and standards are high
You’ll report into the Head of Partnering for Product & Engineering. Your job is to strengthen manager capability and bring sharp signal from the ground.
Why this isn't your standard People and Performance role
Most P&P roles are reactive. This one isn’t. You’ll work in a high-performance environment where:

You apply strong judgment under pressure and stay calm in complexity. You’re comfortable challenging managers directly - respectfully, but without flinching. You think commercially, have a sharp sense of fairness, communicate with clarity, and have the grit to hold high standards even when it’s uncomfortable. You bring signal, not noise. You add precision, not bureaucracy.
What this role isn't
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit behind policy, manage process, or operate as an HR administrator.
If you’re looking for a structured, low-friction environment where years of experience carries more weight than quality of thinking - this isn’t it.
We care far more about your judgment, clarity, and willingness to hold standards than your HR pedigree.
If difficult conversations drain you, or you tend to avoid tension rather than work through it, this won’t be the right fit.
