About Halter
At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.
We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

About the role
Halter is changing the face of pasture-based farming globally. Our product is complex, it sits at the intersection of hardware, software, animal behaviour, and real farm operations, and the people who represent it need to know it inside out. You'll lead our product training team and own that standard across our customer-facing roles at Halter.
You'll own product training across Support, Onboarding, and GTM globally, leading a team of Specialists to make it happen. That means a combined new starter programme for every Customer and GTM hire, competency frameworks and assessments that tell us whether people are actually ready, a seasonal training calendar, and ongoing education that keeps pace with a product that never stops evolving. No two days will be the same, as you switch from supporting your team, to execution, to working with Product on what's coming next, to staying close to customers to understand what is or isn’t landing.
You'll work closely with Product, Onboarding, Support, GTM, People, Product Marketing, and our Customer Enablement team. You're data-led and use what you see in ticket trends, CSAT, and ramp times to make decisions. But you also know that data doesn't tell the whole story, and you stay close enough to the teams and customers to catch what the numbers miss.
If you genuinely believe that how you train your people is how you treat your customers, and you want to own that at one of the most exciting and innovative companies in agtech, this role is for you.
What your day could look like
Own the new starter programme: Every customer-facing hire across Support, Onboarding, and GTM goes through a programme your team owns. You'll build it, run it, and make sure people are genuinely ready before they're in front of a farmer or rancher.
Build the ongoing ramp for Support and Onboarding: Product knowledge doesn't stop at week three. Working closely with Support and Onboarding, you'll own the continuing education that keeps those teams sharp as the product evolves and drives down time to ramp.
Own our learning pathways: Building out and maintaining the programmes people move through, keeping content current, and using completion and assessment data to understand where people are succeeding and where they're not.
Define and maintain competency frameworks: What does product-ready actually look like for a Support or Onboarding Specialist, or a Territory or Account Manager? You'll set that standard, build the assessments to test against it, and make the call on who's ready.
Stay close to your teams: Running calibrations with Onboarding, Support & GTM, reviewing assessments with your Specialists, and making the call on who needs more time before they go customer-facing.
Get out on farm: You'll use customer feedback, on-farm visits, and on-the-ground insights alongside data to understand what's working and where the gaps are.
Work with Product and Product Marketing: Getting ahead of what's shipping next quarter, and making sure education around new features actually sticks after they go live.
Use AI to make the human parts better: Figuring out where AI can handle the baseline so your team's time goes on the things that actually need a person.
Own the seasonal training calendar: Aligning with GTM, Onboarding, and Support globally on what's coming and when teams need to be ready.
Who we are looking for
Someone people want to learn from. You're clear and engaging and you make complex things feel simple without losing the depth.
Someone who cares about how people learn, not just what they learn. You think about the person before you think about the content.
Customer obsessed. You get out on farm, you talk to the teams who talk to farmers, and you use what you learn to make the training better. You care about the impact on our customers, not just the programme.
A proven builder. You've designed training programmes, competency frameworks, and assessments from scratch, not just delivered existing ones.
A strong cross-functional leader. You work well cross-functionally and you bring people along with you.
Sharp on project management. Multiple workstreams, nothing drops.
Detail-driven. Accuracy matters to you and it shows in what you build.
Data-led, but not data-only. You use numbers to make decisions, and you stay close enough to teams and customers to catch what the data misses.
Someone who knows how to build a team and get the best out of people.
An AI-first thinker. You're already exploring how to use it, not waiting to be asked.
Genuinely interested in farming and agtech. You don't need to have grown up on a farm, but you need to care about it.
Bonus skills if you bring
Experience in agtech, SaaS, hardware/IoT, or anywhere technical training is genuinely complex.
Experience working closely with Product or Product Marketing on release readiness.
Exposure to GTM enablement and how field reps and AMs need to hold product knowledge differently from Support.
Familiarity with adult learning principles.
Our office first approach
There's a reason you visit your friends in person, live with your family and don't do dinners over Zoom. Humans are wired for connection. We believe a world-class, in-person office culture is the best way for high-performing teams.
Being office first is a core pillar of our culture. We believe in-person connections are key to driving your own growth, learning, impact, and building genuine long-lasting relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful and aligned work. We don't like having heaps of rules or policies, but this means having strong, trusted relationships is critical.
We're office first, not office only. This means working from the office everyday is our default setting, but we flex when we need to. We have a high-trust culture, so everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.
