About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to be one of Halter's Regional Sales Managers in Queensland, one of Australia's great cattle regions, partnering with another Regional Sales Manager to lead our rapidly growing team and customer base.

We're looking for a sales leader who builds capability in others: someone who can hire, coach, and grow a team of Territory Managers, set the standard for how we champion Halter with farmers, and turn the region's momentum into a scalable, high-performing sales operation. A 'never give up attitude' is crucial for this role; you'll be a key leader shaping the growth and success of Halter in Queensland.

You'll be responsible for leading your team's sales performance end to end, from pipeline and forecasting to territory strategy, running regular one-on-ones and ride-alongs so you stay close to the deals your team is running and can coach them through real farm meetings. You'll set the bar for how Halter's value proposition is delivered, hold your team accountable to targets, and build the discipline and rigor behind a growing sales region. As the region scales, you'll help design how we set quotas and commissions, build a strong sales culture, and develop the people who join you. Make your mark with Halter and help us push the boundaries of farming, connecting animals and humans like never before.

The role is based in Brisbane, with regular travel to central Queensland.

Who we're looking for:

  • A complete end-to-end sales skill set with at least five years of experience.

  • Proven track records and examples of successfully sourcing new prospects, securing meetings with new leads and creating new sales opportunities.

  • Someone highly experienced in value-based sales with a proven history of closing deals and high-volume sales results.

  • Well-prepared with solid communication skills to present Halter's value proposition.

  • Experience in farming or within the agricultural sector is a highly advantageous.

  • A person who is results-driven, highly motivated with exceptional time management skills.

  • Adaptability in a high-stakes sales environment and the ability to think on your feet.

  • Sales experience in the technology-based industry is preferred

  • A university degree or equivalent would be excellent but not a must.

What your day could look like:

  • Setting and managing quotas, commissions and other sales management tasks for the sales team.

  • Coaching, mentoring and developing our junior sales staff to help drive their professional growth to reach targets.

  • Sourcing new leads and opportunities through proactive outreach, referrals/introductions, industry events and other channels, as well as fielding and responding to inbound inquiries.

  • Meet high growth sales targets by managing pipeline through to close, including screening, qualifying, executing on-farm demonstrations and successfully negotiating contracts with customers.

  • Collaborating with Customer Success to ensure successful post-sales handoff, implementations, customer satisfaction and account renewal.

  • Providing support, insight and communication to help build and foster trusting and enduring relationships with customers as they wait for deployment.

  • Leveraging opportunities and participating in relevant industry/Halter events and demonstrations.

  • Building and leveraging industry relationships to establish and maintain Halter's brand.

  • Focusing on the customer and their needs, providing feedback to help drive the product roadmap.

  • Working with the team to optimise and evolve the sales process to become faster, more efficient and more predictable as the company scales

Our Benefits (US Only):

  • Personal growth fund: $1000 AUD per year to support learning, development, or personal growth goals

  • Parental leave: 16 weeks paid leave for birthing parents and 8 weeks paid leave for non-birthing parents

  • Onboarding travel to New Zealand: Fly to NZ for onboarding at Halter HQ in Auckland—meet the team, visit a test farm, and immerse yourself in all things Halter

Halter in Australia:

Halter entered Tasmania four years ago and has rapidly expanded to now have over 30% of the state's dairy herd with Halter — a thriving customer base managed by a talented, local team. Halter has also been operating in Queensland for some time and entered New South Wales in late 2025 following new state regulations, and now has a growing team and customer base across both states.

In Victoria, Halter became the first virtual fencing provider granted a permit to operate, effective February 2026, and is now live with customers across the state. In South Australia, Halter recently became the first operator approved to enter the market, following the state's move to legalise the technology, and is preparing to launch operations there. In Western Australia, Halter does not yet have customers — the state currently only permits a competing virtual fencing brand — though Halter continues to work with regulators and is optimistic about gaining market access in 2026. Across Western Australia there remains a groundswell of demand for Halter among thousands of farmers.
