Hnry are undergoing a period of rapid growth and we are looking for our first hire into our UK based finance team by introducing a Finance Specialist role. This newly established role will be part of a small but mighty international team, managing the finances of the business.
We are looking to create a fast-moving and innovative finance team at Hnry, built with the goal of delivering the best outcomes to all of our stakeholders. This role will be crucial in maintaining the internal culture of how finance works at Hnry.
🚀 Responsibilities
Manage and improve Hnry’s day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping activities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including budget vs actual analysis and key metric reporting
Implement and maintain the company’s finance systems and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement
Support the drafting and implementation of appropriate, right-sized financial policies for a growing start-up
Ensure tax compliance across the Hnry Group, including VAT, corporation tax, payroll taxes, and other statutory obligations
Work with the Head of UK, external auditors, and advisers on the preparation of statutory financial statements
Liaise with external bookkeepers to drive process improvements aimed at delivering fast, accurate, and timely financial reporting
Monitor company bank accounts to ensure adequate liquidity for business initiatives
Work closely with the Hnry’s wider finance team and Leadership Team on budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and long-term financial planning

🫵 You will:
Be the eyes and ears of the finance team, keeping the company’s day to day financial activities in check, establishing best practice processes and partnering with the rest of the business to help us grow
Be comfortable working with leadership and being exposed to key decisions being made
Look to collaborate across the entire company but understand the importance of autonomous work
Enjoy solving complex problems
Be an experienced finance professional working in accounting, audit, or tax (ACA/ACCA preferred)
Be a team player with strong communication, customer service, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Have the ability to prioritise and work proactively and independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Be able to bring your own ideas to the table, be driven and motivated to hit goals, and have the skills to make those ideas a reality
Bonus points for the following:
Previous experience using accounting software e.g. ApprovalMax
Experience being self-employed (freelancing, contracting etc) in any industry/profession
Experience of working in a fast-paced, agile workplace
Prior experience within a SaaS based organisation

💰
Salary banding: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
