Hot Lime Labs has developed a system to produce clean, renewable CO2 from the combustion of wood and agri-waste for large high-tech commercial greenhouses, improving crop yields by 15-20%. The pilot system underwent a successful trial at a commercial greenhouse in 2019, and the first commercial system is set to be installed in late 2022. The Hot Lime system enables growers to enrich the greenhouse atmosphere in CO2, allowing them to boost yields in a sustainable and more cost-effective way than existing methods. This will help growers to operate at optimal yields, which can be up to 20 times greater than those achievable in an open field.
