Hot Lime Labs has developed a system to produce clean, renewable CO2 from the combustion of wood and agri-waste for large high-tech commercial greenhouses, improving crop yields by 10-20%. The Pilot system underwent a successful trial at a commercial greenhouse late 2019, and the first commercial system will be installed in 2021. The Hot Lime system enables growers enrich the greenhouse atmosphere in CO2, allowing them to boost yields in a sustainable and more cost-effective way than existing methods. This will help growers to operate at optimal yields, which can be up to 20 times greater than those achievable in an open field.
