Intro to the role:
Your mission will be to support our investment team to identify, evaluate, and progress investments in New Zealand’s most promising startups. As an Investment Analyst, you will work closely with the team to, support active deal processes, and contribute to the research, analysis, and diligence that underpins confident investment decisions.
This is a junior, graduate level role focused on building strong investing fundamentals. You will support deal teams through market research, data collection, due diligence support, and drafting sections of investment memos, while also helping keep our pipeline organised and moving. You will learn by shadowing experienced investors and building confidence through repetition, feedback, and ownership of core investment workflows such as taking minutes, maintaining accurate deal notes, and supporting Investment Committee preparation.

About the Role:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven, proactive, and values aligned Investment Analyst to join our team.
This is a junior, graduate level role focused on supporting the investment team through high quality research, analysis, and deal support. The Analyst will help progress investment opportunities through the pipeline by assisting with due diligence, drafting sections of investment memos, maintaining accurate deal notes and data, and supporting Investment Committee preparation through agenda coordination and minutes. This role is an exceptional opportunity to learn venture capital from the inside, build strong investing fundamentals, and grow into a long term career as an investor over time.
Key Responsibilities:

Deal Support and Pipeline Progression:

Support the investment team to progress deals through the pipeline from initial screening through to investment decision making.

Help keep deal notes, data, and pipeline tracking up to date in our systems to ensure a smooth and consistent process.

Coordinate key admin and execution tasks that keep live deal processes moving at pace.

Research and Due Diligence Support:

Conduct market and competitive research to support the investment team’s diligence workstreams.

Assist with data collection and analysis across companies, sectors, and investment opportunities.

Support customer reference work and other diligence tasks as required by deal teams.

Data Analysis and Investment Support:

Support investment decisions by preparing analysis and drafting sections of investment memos and internal materials.

Take minutes and support agenda preparation for Investment Committee meetings, ensuring decisions and follow ups are recorded clearly.

Maintain clean, accurate reporting across dealflow and portfolio data to strengthen internal decision making and team visibility.

Prior experience that may be helpful:
Note: We do not expect any candidate to have all of the following experiences. We are also interested in alternative backgrounds that augment our current team and capabilities.

A strong academic foundation or recent relevant study (for example in commerce, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or similar), with evidence of drive and a growth mindset.

Early exposure to startups or entrepreneurship through internships, part time roles, student ventures, or side projects.

Basic finance and analytical experience, such as coursework or internship experience in financial modelling, research, or investment analysis.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with evidence of being able to build relationships and work well with a wide range of people.

An interest in the New Zealand startup ecosystem, technology, and what it takes to build high growth companies.
Remuneration:

Base: $65-$80k*

Bonus: 10% of base subject to KPIs
