This role: 

As our Community Manager, you will play key role in growing and activating entrepreneurial our co-working community. Our objective is create a co-working and events space that hosts dozens of events, hundreds of meetings, and thousands of visitors per year. 

Reporting to: Business Operations Manager, Felicity 

Works closely with: Co-working space tenants, Community Manager (Co-working Space), suppliers and vendors and service contractors 

Your role will be to 

  • To fill the co-working space with ambitious, entrepreneurial tenants and to provide them a premium and engaging experience. This includes proactively managing a pipeline of prospective tenants and recruiting the highest quality ones to our space, serving as the key point of contact of existing tenants including coordinating on lease renewals, and efficiently addressing requests or issues related to the tenant experience. 

  • To fill the events calendar with vibrant, startup-related gatherings that amplify Icehouse Ventures connectivity to the ecosystem. This includes outreach to and coordination with others in the industry to host events in the Icehouse space (as well as creation and execution of our own events), supporting tenants and the Icehouse Ventures team to operate events including support with set up and pack down, management of an event calendars and coordination with any tenants affected, and coordination with suppliers and contractors.  

  • To amplify the energy, quality, and warmth of the space. This includes knowing every tenant by name, supporting the Barista & Facilities Manager to welcome and supports visitors to the space, executing “surprise & delight” initiatives for tenants, contributing to curated storytelling throughout the space, and attending to technology, security, and health & safety requirements of the co-working space.

What you will do:  

  • Tenant UX: Deliver a highly-engaging and premium experience that includes curated events and gatherings for tenants, coordination with tenants on technology-, catering-, and space-related requirements, welcoming guests (particularly VIP investors, entrepreneurs, and international visitors), and creating opportunities for connection between tenants. 

  • Tenant recruitment: Proactively manage and grow a pipeline of tenants. Profile, source, connect with, and pitch to as many high-quality tenants as possible to help us achieve 100% occupancy. This includes conducting tours and contributing to storytelling and marketing that generates inbound leads. 

  • Tenant management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all tenants. Onboard new members, manage communications and tenancy administration, and maintain agreements, bonds, and renewals. Support with budgeting and forecasting of co-working occupancy. 

  • Events & programming: Own the community events calendar and cultivate New Zealand’s entrepreneurial crossroads. Plan, coordinate, and host networking functions, founder meetups, educational sessions, and celebrations. Source speakers, manage logistics, and handle all supplier coordination. Ensure AV, technology, seating, A/C, and more are set up and functioning for all events and meetings. 

  • Health & safety: Serve as a point of contact for H&S matters. Maintain records, conduct regular checks, and ensure compliance. Serve as a First Aider and Fire Warden (training provided if needed). 

  • General expectations: Be a visible, energising presence every day. Bring initiative and represent Icehouse Ventures with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm.

  • Experience in community management and/or member experience 

  • Event management experience including coordination with suppliers and contractors 

  • Sales / BD experience that equips you to attract great people to the space 

  • Strong communication skills and impeccable integrity

Benefits: 

  • Base salary: $90k - $120k (depending on experience) 

  • Bonus: 10% of base subject to KPIs 

  • Carry on future funds raised, subject to vesting and carry agreement

  • ESOP in Icehouse Ventures, subject to vesting and ESOP agreement 

  • Annual Health & Wellbeing subsidy
