Permanent role: Starting as soon as a candidate is available.

Location: Based in our office on Karangahape Road in Auckland, New Zealand, with some days of the week optionally remote. We are also supportive of fully remote members in New Zealand.

About Narrative:

Narrative is one of NZ’s fastest-growing software companies with global customers. We build products to serve the 9 million professional photographers worldwide, significantly reducing their processing time and supporting a better daily workflow with AI-powered tools. We’re backed by some of the best VCs worldwide, with talent from companies like Google, Xero, and Vend, and some of NZ's best software engineers working together to solve this.

We have tens of thousands of photographers using our products, and we’re growing fast. Our flagship product Select+Edit currently processes more than two billion images per year, and this number is rapidly growing. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and build industry-leading AI products.

We're committed to building products for professional photographers who work with people from all genders, ethnicities, racial and religious backgrounds. We think it’s important that our team reflects the same diverse audience. We're actively working to grow a diverse team and offer flexible and remote working options, one month of paid parental leave in addition to government leave, 30 hours a week for six months on full pay following return from parental leave (for both birthing and non-birthing parents), and extended sick leave to support our team to get through the many things life can throw your way.

Who are we looking for:

Are you a current (or past) photographer with experience in Marketing, PR, or Community Management looking to join a startup and get hands-on experience organically growing a tech company? This is the role for you. We are looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people (in this case, photographers), is highly organized, familiar with social channels and social management, and confident at writing and ideating on how to create engaging content to deepen our connection with the global photographer community.

Our ideal candidate is sociable, outgoing, and thrives in connecting with people. They are comfortable executing at speed, learning, iterating, optimizing, and collaborating. We’re a small team that punches above our weight, and everyone rolls up their sleeves to execute on our exciting and ambitious strategy.

The purpose of this role:

The key focus of this role is to support our top-of-funnel growth via Word of Mouth (WoM) through organic channels and building awareness of the Narrative brand.

What you’ll be focusing on:

This role is to further fuel our WoM in the market. We have built a product that photographers love, and we want to continue building our network of influential photographers and engage with them to maximize opportunities for them (and us) to drive sign-ups and conversions of our game-changing AI software. Your areas of focus will be:

  • Connecting with highly influential photographers

  • Engaging with photography educators and staying informed about industry events to ensure our presence

  • Managing our social media and growing our engagement and conversation with photographers

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships within the photography community to promote our brand and products

What success looks like:

You’ll be excelling in this role if you:

  • Keep a finger on the pulse about content photographers care about

  • Ideate and execute content ideas with our team

  • Keep our photographers engaged and in the loop

  • See our sign-ups increase from our organic channels

Join us:

Narrative is committed to building AI software that works for people from all genders, ethnicities, racial, and religious backgrounds. We want our team to reflect this focus. Research shows that men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, while women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So, if you really love the idea of working for Narrative, and think you have what it takes, please apply, even if you do not tick every box in the job description.

If this sounds like you, please apply with a cover letter and CV here.
