Neocrete is a start-up revolutionising the concrete industry with our innovative, low-carbon additive technology. Concrete is the second most used material in the world and contributes to 8% of CO2 emissions and we're on a mission to change that. This full-time role is an opportunity to make a difference on projects that are scaling globally, and work with a great team passionate about their work.
What you’ll gain:
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic, fast-paced lab environment. It is perfect if you are passionate about sustainability and materials science. This is a six-month industry placement for a master's graduate. You'll be working in our R&D testing team:

Testing concrete, analysing results and contributing to customer reports that influence our technology and product adoption

We’re looking for someone who:
-
Has experience with concrete testing (preferred but not necessary)

Holds a masters degree completed with the last 12 months, ideally civil or chemical engineering, but other engineering or science disciplines are also welcome to apply

Works well in a collaborative team setting

Is comfortable with hands-on practical work in a lab. (e.g. mixing concrete)

Excited by working in a startup atmosphere where things move quickly and change often.

Has strong attention to detail and good communication skills

Is comfortable with basic Excel and data analysis

Can follow standard procedures and work safely in a lab environment

You must have

Recently completed, your degree in science, technology, engineering, design or business (NZQA Level 9 or 10)

Be either a New Zealand citizen, or have received your master’s from a New Zealand university or tertiary education institution

Have submitted a thesis for marking or have completed course requirement for taught master’s less than 12 months ago.
