Your Role

As a Senior or Lead Product Designer, you will be at the intersection of design, product, engineering, and the broader organization to optimize our user experience within the Re-Leased product portfolio. You could also step into product management responsibilities to drive rapid iterations to our overall user experience - there is no hand-off culture here, we all ship together. Consistent pro-active communication and pragmatism will be key in succeeding.

This role could be based remotely in New Zealand or in our Auckland or Napier offices.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive design strategy across multiple product areas and influence company-wide design direction
• Partner with product and engineering leadership on roadmap prioritization and present design rationale to senior stakeholders
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor more junior designers or product people, and represent design in executive discussions
• Experiment with emerging AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and drive innovation across workflows
• Define and evolve design systems and standards across the Re-Leased product portfolio
• Transform customer feedback and data insights into strategic design decisions that drive business outcomes
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver rapid iterations while maintaining design quality
• Be the organizational voice of UX, championing user-centered design principles and communicating the "why" behind design decisions

Your Experience

• 7+ years product design experience, with 3+ years in senior/lead roles
• Track record of leading design for complex B2B/SaaS products through full product lifecycles
• Portfolio demonstrating measurable business impact from design decisions
• Expert proficiency in design tools and AI-powered prototyping platforms (Figma AI, v0, or similar.)
• Experience scaling design processes and mentoring teams in high-growth environments
• Proven ability to engage in strategic discussions with engineering and product leadership
• Strong background in translating user research and data into actionable design strategies
• Demonstrated ability to understand different states of a scaling business: always having a pragmatic, yet customer-centric approach at heart
• Experience in translating data and customer insights into designed experiences
