The Opportunity

The creative opportunity is significant - a lot to build, a lot of room to make a mark, and a team that genuinely values great brand and design.

We are looking for someone who can think about brand as infrastructure, holds a meticulously high standard and has impeccable taste. Someone who can build systems that AI agents and teammates actually use, codify visual identity in ways that scale without diluting, and lead the creative function into a future most design teams are not ready for.

This is a hands-on creative leadership role for someone with huge amounts of passion for building brands. You will shape our brand, lead the launch of a new brand, own our design system for the AI era, and build the creative capability we need to compete at the next level. You will also take early design direction of our new AI-first product, establishing its visual identity from the ground up, so hopefully you enjoy variety.

You will work across a modern, AI-native creative toolkit. We do not expect mastery of everything, but you should be curious, capable, excited and building fluency across it.

You’ll likely be a graphic designer by trade but have ambitions to go beyond. If you want to lead the future of brand, not just work in it, this is the role!

This role could be based in Australia or New Zealand, with a preference for Auckland.

What you’ll be owning

  • The visual brand identity for Re-Leased: logo, colour, typography, photography, illustration, and motion, showing up consistently across every market and touchpoint.
  • Creative execution for major brand initiatives: campaigns, product launches, website UI and a significant new brand launch as an early flagship project.
  • Brand guidelines built as living systems: accessible references that teammates and AI tools actually use, updated as the brand evolves and giving the teams the capability to build with brand consistencies.
  • The design and creative tech stack: selecting, implementing, and evolving the tools our creative runs on, from Figma and Webflow to Claude, ElevenLabs, and AI image generation.
  • Creative thinking with experiential brand moments/activations at events and conferences, merch, gifting, going beyond standard brand ideas to create things people remember.
  • Design direction for Re-Leased’s new AI-first product: establishing its visual foundation as an early-stage brand.
  • Build and manage a trusted network of freelance designers, editors, video producers, and motion designers.
  • Own the video direction and strategy for Re-Leased alongside the VP Brand & Customer, defining how the brand shows up across video formats and working hands-on with the team and freelance network to bring that vision to life.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years in brand, design, or creative leadership, ideally in a SaaS or technology business.
  • Expert level Figma design skills: producing production-ready brand systems, assets, and templates.
  • Someone with genuine creative vision and the craft to back it up - you hold the big idea and deliver the detail.
  • A builder and a team player, energized by making things, not just directing them.
  • You treat AI tools as a creative multiplier and are actively building fluency across the stack or genuinely excited to.
  • A track record of building or evolving a brand, not just maintaining one.
  • A good human and team player, able to work outside the box and alongside other legends.
