We're thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Staff Engineer in our Staff+ team. You'll enjoy a highly varied role with a wide remit - our Staff Engineers work across the organisation to support Sharesies' ambitious goals and ensure we continue to deliver at pace.
This position offers exposure to challenging problems where you'll have the power to make impactful decisions. You'll spend much of your time doing hands-on development work, balancing quarterly priorities with the flexibility to put time into your own initiative where you see payoff. You'll also provide expert guidance to other teams about the systems we anchor.

For the Staff Engineer role we are specifically looking for someone who:
- has excellent full stack development skills (our stack is primarily Python and Typescript/React, and some C#)
- has the ability to consider both business context and technical strategy and constraints, and drive solutions that meet both
- has a knack for coming up with simple and scalable solutions for really complex problems
- is a keen learner and strong problem solver, with the ability to help teams navigate healthy disagreements about approach and requirements
- has good communication and people skills, including mentoring and reviewing work
- is adaptable to change, and is motivated by our vision and purpose
