We provide remote commentary & graphics services to leading sports leagues and broadcasters around the world. Our Virtual Commentary Studio is used by rights holders like the NFL, DAZN and MLB to remotely produce commentary for their live broadcasts. Spalk also has the largest Talent Marketplace of Professional Sports Commentators, with thousands of events and millions of dollars being paid each year to commentators around the world.

Spalk is looking for a high caliber Broadcast Technician - Americas to help monitor, support & delivery our customer’s live broadcasts across the America's timezones.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting critical live broadcast operations
• Meeting, and helping commentators all over the world use our sports commentary platform
• Responding to customer enquiries via email, Slack & Whatsapp
• Monitoring live streams for quality and consistency and success
• Troubleshooting issues such as adjusting stream keys, managing packet loss, adjusting audio channel mapping & resolving issues via Spalk's Web Dashboard
• Ensuring our customers have successful broadcasts

Suitable Candidates will:

• Strong attention to detail
• Be enthusiastic and calm when coordinating and running live support operations
• Be proficient in using a computer and common tools like Slack, Whatsapp & Notion
• Be proficient in streaming protocols like RTMP, SRT & Zixi
• 3+ years of experience in a live broadcast environment (TV, Radio, Outside Broadcast)
• Have clear and concise English communication skills
• Have access to reliable internet connectivity and a laptop

Hours, Pay & Location:

You will be required to work a minimum of 8 - 12 hours per week, you may take on extra work for a total of up to 30 hours per week if you desire. The pay rate is US$15 per hour. You will be able to work remotely so long as you have a strong and stable internet connection. After six months of successful contracting, the pay rate will increase to US$20 per hour.
