Role Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) role at Tapi is for top talent sales people with quota-crushing enthusiasm and track record. This is a full-time Hybrid or Remote based role for a Business Development Manager, located in Australia. The spot is reserved for those with strong sales credentials and have an insatiable appetite for the thrill of the chase and securing new business.

BDMs who thrive in our team have next level hustle and drive to pursue and secure new business opportunities and our active listeners. They are hungry about expanding the Tapi customer base, engaging in every phase of the sales process —from initial prospecting and effective lead management to expert qualification, captivating product demonstrations, thorough evaluation, the exhilaration of closing sales, and meticulous account management.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Co-founder, the role will be measured by:

  • Customer acquisition (measured by property growth)
  • Maintaining average revenue per property (SaaS revenue)

Responsibilities

  • Promote Tapi and its product suite as solutions to prospective customer needs
  • Own the full sales cycle from discovery to close for your account portfolio
  • Exceed monthly sales targets, through territory management of QLD, Australia.
  • Prepare your monthly sales plan (in collaboration with the sales team and Head of Sales), to exceed sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing sales opportunities
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement to develop and manage sales prospects, while simultaneously moving a large number of transactions through the sales pipeline
  • Provide product demonstrations and general support to prospective customers
  • Nurture and expand the company's relationship with business owners, customers, in conjunction with their assigned Customer Success Manager
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products
  • Represent Tapi at conferences, industry events, partnership events, in webinars, and always be focused on building a strong pipeline and managing customer prospects.
  • Participate in team building and company growth activities including strategy setting, sales training, collaborative upskilling, marketing efforts and customer care

Who are you?

  • At least three years of sales and/or lead qualification experience, including outbound prospecting, quotas, transaction volume and activity levels (calls, demos, meetings, etc.)
  • You set the pace with consistent overachievement of sales goals in a large geographic territory. Experience with B2B SaaS sales is preferred but not vital for the right person.
  • A Self-starter. You will be given the support, training and tooling to be a raging success in this role, but we expect a self-starter who will drive themselves and manage their territory and portfolio like their own business.
  • Great organisational skills and diligent use of tooling will be important.
  • Amazing Relationship Builder. You have a desire to bring customers into the Tapi stable for great customer outcomes and maximise revenue.
  • You have demonstrated transactional sales experience including prospecting and assessing sales potential over the phone and web; handling a large number of transactions simultaneously through the sales pipeline and closing them quickly.
  • Excellent communication and engaging presenter.
  • You recognise the potential of SaaS and understand Tapi’s mission deeply. You believe Tapi will become one of the most important proptech companies in the world, you want to be a contributing member of a winning sales team, and you want to have fun all the way.
  • Domain expert - As you will be working directly with Tapi’s customers, prior business development is mandatory, and an enthusiasm/experience in Property Industry or Proptech is an advantage.
