Are you our new Junior Software Engineer?
You are smart, resilient, adaptable, ambitious and kind, you will be looking to fast track your career at one of NZ’s fastest growing startups. You don’t need to have a degree, but you do need to have a proven passion for Software development and problem solving.
We are looking for candidates that have active side projects, are actively learning whatever they can to become a great developer.
Tracksuit does not have a formal junior induction or learning program, instead, you will be given a couple of brilliant mentors, and the opportunity to progress as fast as you can learn.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be reporting to the Head of Engineering & will be responsible for:

  • Working hand-in-hand with a talented team of backend, frontend, full stack and data engineers as well as visionary product managers as part of an empowered product squad.
  • Innovating and collaborating with the wider team in fast-paced two-week sprints to bring our cutting-edge product ideas to life.
  • Looking after yourself and your colleagues, making Tracksuit an awesome place to be at.

That's the role so who are you?

  • You have experience in a modern programming language/framework (Typescript, Java, .NET, Python or Rust)
  • You are familiar with front-end JS frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
  • You have used SQL or NoSQL databases for data management.
  • A kind, smart and genuine human with a growth mindset.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and, as an early team member, are excited at the prospect of having a tangible impact on Tracksuit’s culture.
  • You are curious, you want to build world class products, you are continuously learning and improving your craft, and helping your colleagues to do the same.
