About Us:
We are a startup funded by Blackbird, Icehouse Ventures and K1W1. We build tools that keep communities safe with security technology. To do this, we are solving extremely challenging engineering problems in the IoT space (Think IP Cameras, door access controls and various IoT sensors). Our platform ingests millions of potential threats a week, which we apply machine learning models such as Object Detection, Large Language Models, and Pose Detection to surface only what truly matters to our users.
About the Role:
We are on the hunt for a passionate Site Reliability Engineer to focus on our core product and integration platforms. This is a unique opportunity to set the standards of the SRE function at Watchful, and guide all other engineers on SRE practices, as it’s not solely an SRE’s responsibility, but a shared one. You will have high ownership of large projects and initiatives while working closely with other product engineering team members.
You will be working with Google Cloud, managed K8s (GKE), managed Postgres, .NET, RabbitMQ and React SPA.
Key responsibilities:
High level of ownership from idea through to delivery, you will be instrumental in planning, shaping, executing and supporting the entire development process
Working closely with and communicating regularly within an interdisciplinary team. We aim to have all product delivery roles work extremely closely together every step of the way
Ensuring customer centricity is at the heart of all of your day-to-day decisions
Continually evaluating the platform for upcoming scalability bottlenecks and needed infrastructure upgrades

Sharp pragmatism to find the best value and balance a never ending list of possible improvements
Experience in the following is ideal but not limited to: K8s, Postgres, RabbitMQ, .NET
