We are seeking an experienced Operational Readiness Engineer to support the commissioning and handover of wastewater treatment assets and systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring new or upgraded infrastructure is fully operational, safe, and ready for handover to operations teams.
Working closely with engineering, operations, contractors, and vendors, you will coordinate commissioning activities and ensure all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems are properly tested and validated before startup.
About You
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 3–7 years’ experience in commissioning, startup, or operations within industrial infrastructure
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment facilities is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of pumps, blowers, valves, instrumentation, and process systems
- Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, and control system integration

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate operational readiness and commissioning plans
- Review P&IDs, equipment specifications, and technical documentation
- Ensure pre-operational checks and functional testing are completed for process equipment
- Coordinate control system testing, including SCADA and PLC integration
- Verify safety systems, alarms, and emergency shutdowns
- Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning
- Prepare handover documentation and operational readiness reports
- Support operator training and startup stabilisation
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
