Fluid Recruitment is proud to partner with an industry leading consultancy in search for an experienced Substation Design Engineer in our clients Wellington, Christchurch, Auckland, or Tauranga offices.

The Role
A key part of the Engineering & Design team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and support of our clients' customers primary or secondary systems.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- If specialising in primary systems, you will curate concept & detailed design for primary systems, defining & integrating electrical subsystems into clients design.
- If specialising in secondary systems, you will curate concept & detailed design, settings for protection relays & RTU's, generating plans, and overseeing commissioning, associated with the capital works programme
- Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders to prepare, review designs, settings, standards, and studies.
- Partner with the key companies across the energy sector within transmission, distribution, and generation.
About You
To be able to hit the ground running and continue supporting a growing sector, you will have the following experience:
- Extensive background in the energy sector in New Zealand.
- Coming from an EDB or a consultancy background, you have a strong background in primary or secondary system design and project or design management within the local New Zealand electricity industry, along with a strong understanding of industry regulations and high-voltage systems.
- Strong track record of delivering designs and projects to a high standard.
- A people person with strong technical skills who can communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Currently holding a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
