Water Service Technician – Wellington

What You’ll Do

As a Water Service Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Leak Detection operations across the Wellington region. Your work will help ensure our customers receive accurate, timely and high‑quality service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting ground surveys of water mains and private water lines

  • Identifying and locating leaks using specialised equipment

  • Deploying, retrieving and analysing data and noise loggers

  • Recording, reporting and interpreting water network telemetry information

  • Performing water main pressure and flow testing

  • Completing bore meter verification work

  • Assisting with meter reading when required

  • Supporting special projects, including engineering‑related tasks

  • Attending team meetings and contributing to continuous improvement

  • Following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving and working independently in the field. We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • A trade or tertiary qualification or comparative experience in Electrical, Engineering, plumbing, or associated trade

  • Strong computer literacy and confidence with modern field engineering tools

  • Excellent communication, time‑management and problem‑solving skills

  • A professional, courteous and customer‑focused approach

  • A commitment to health, safety and maintaining a tidy work environment

  • The ability to travel within New Zealand

  • A clean driver’s licence

  • The ability to pass criminal and credit checks
